I vividly remember watching Rhona Martin's team win gold at the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Getting to know Rhona and her teammates, I became fascinated by how their dedication fitted into their lives. How it didn’t stop them being the people they were, but instead became a magical part of them.
A BRILLIANT CURLING STORY
Feature
There is a line that Craig Ferguson says in this film that sums up why I love diving into sports stories like this one -
“There’s a perception that these are just normal people. They’re not normal, they’re better than you.”
Rhona and her team were trying to be Olympic champions and that needed all the commitment and obsession that any champion needs. But they also had to make lunches, help with homework, get time off their day jobs at the bank and all those bits of everyday life that we all do. And that mix is something I find incredibly inspiring.
Can you strive for the highest levels of success, and still hold life together as you do?
